       MMH is a new type of drilling fluid additive which is used to prepare the MMH positive electric mud. The MMH mud system has special rheological properties: lower apparent viscosity , higher yield point and good carrying capacity for sand cutting. It is in the form of solid state at a standstill, but may transform into the liquid state immediately once being driven to flow. MMH mud can effectively inhibit the swelling of clay, prevent the sloughing of the borehole wall and ensure the safety of borehole. MMH has the effective function to adjust the rheological properties of mud, therefor it is advantageous to enhance drilling speed. Because of the “solid state layer” formed from the MMH mud protecting the borehole wall, the MMH mud system is very effective to maintain the stability for the loose gravel stratum.
