     SKTN is made from the tannic acid by sulfonation and other chemical modifications. It is a free flowing brown powder and has a stronger  hydroscopicity and good solubility. SKTN is an excellent deflocculant  (thinner) for all types of water base drilling muds. It can effectively lower the viscosity and shear strength , and improve the rheoiogical  properties of fresh water muds. In potassium base mud, SKTN has excellent capacity to inhibit the hydration and swelling of shale as well as maintains thinning capacity, and displays the effects of lowing water loss of mud, protecting the borehole wall, preventing the sloughing , controling the change of borehole size, and improving the well logging results.

Recommended

treatment

1. Normal treatment in water base or potassium base muds as the thinner is about 0.2~1%;
2. It will display better effect when used with the cooperation of the potassium base  polymers.
